This was such a beautiful and honest share, Trevor. I’m really looking forward to reading more of your writing.

I have a strained relationship with my father as well. He is alive, but he has never met my daughter, who is his only grandchild, so I can relate to that wound in my own way.

I also really relate to what you shared about the reasons for starting a Substack and how those reasons have evolved. I think I’ve realized that so much of the growth comes from simply sharing my honest experiences. It’s beautiful when other people relate, and I love knowing that something I write might help someone else feel less alone, but ultimately, the writing is helping me grow too. And that feels like reason enough to keep going.

Thanks Brianna.

Realizing why I actually started to write and what this project has become is definitely still evolving, but I am thankful for the process of the evolution. It's like I started this looking out into the dense fog of my emotions and as I wrote the fog started to slowly lift more and more with each essay.

It's a strange feeling to hear you share about your own father. I'm simultaneously deeply saddened to hear that because I know how painful a father's absence is in a person's life and I'm also thankful to have another great writer to connect with that understands how that pain can influence and contribute to their emotional realities and their writings.

I'm glad you are here to connect and I look forward to more of your thoughts and perspectives. :)

Glad you gained clarity on your direction and the drive behind that, and that you are staying true to it.

Thanks Yarah, it was a painful weekend coming to this realization but I'm glad I did as well. It feels like a well needed emotional shift back to why I started writing originally 😊
